New York City-based photographer Shae DeTar creates surreal, enchanting scenes by hand-painting her images.
The practice of hand-coloring photographs involves manually adding color to negatives, and was popular in the 19th century before the invention of color photography.
With their lush colors and hazy, dreamy vibe, DeTar’s photographs of landscapes and models are reminiscent of vintage concert posters.
