Over 40 publicly-chosen charities have received donations from easyfundraising.org.uk’s ‘hiddenfundraising’ campaign which saw over 100 golden cash-filled tickets hidden throughout Manchester last week.
The scheme, created by digital agency iProspect Manchester on behalf of the website, saw a total of £2,000 donated to a slew of charities.
Packages containing vouchers worth either £10, £20, £30 or £50 were hidden in Manchester’s Media City, Piccadilly and Spinningfields areas. Using the hashtag ‘#hiddenfundraising’ and through the charity website’s social media platforms, daily clues and teaser photographs were released to the public.
Individuals who found the letters were encouraged to tweet a selfie with the voucher, stating which charity should receive the donation, along with the campaign hashtag.
Cancer Research UK, Prostate Cancer UK, Beating Bowel Cancer, National Autistic Society and many more charities benefited from the scheme.
Nikki Hoffman, executive director at Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention, said: “We were delighted to be involved in this innovative campaign.
“Every penny we receive will go towards building a future without breast cancer, so thank you to the people who nominated us and Easyfundraising for their donations.”
Caroline Adams, head of marketing at Easyfundraising UK, said: “We wanted this campaign to highlight how easy it can be to donate to charities and causes that are important to you, without a penny leaving your pocket – that’s what easyfundraising.org.uk is all about.”
Easyfundraising has so far raised nearly £7.5 million for over 55,000 UK causes. iProspect, the digital firm behind the campaign, in April appointed a number of managing partners and a chief media officer to the team, to help manage such campaigns.
