WPP has extended its global spending spree with the news that its wholly owned subsidiary JWT, a marketing communications agency, had acquired a majority stake in Try, the Brazilian user experience agency.
Try specialises in the design and development of custom web, mobile, desktop and touch-enabled applications, generating unaudited revenues for the year to 31 December 2013 of £2.5m. key clients include Experian, Electrolux and Havaianas.
In a statement WPP said: “This investment continues WPP’s strategy of investing in fast growing markets and sectors and its commitment to developing its strategic networks throughout the dynamic Brazilian market.
“The investment also continues WPP’s strategy of investing in fast-growing markets and sectors such as data and digital.“
Brazil is WPP’s eighth largest market in Latin America with 6,000 employees and revenues of US$650m.
