Fishtank Recruitment are a recruitment agency based in Bristol and the South West, who came to us looking for a new, modern website. With a previous website that was Flash-based and had aged over time, they were after something modern-looking that would stand out from the crowd, whilst being future-proof. Functionally, they required a streamlined job posting website that simultaneously published jobs to various other websites and job boards across the internet.
Looking at their statistics showed that more than 50% of their website traffic was coming via mobile and tablet devices but many were unable to visit the website due to Flash limitations. We created a responsive website that allowed prospective job seekers to browse both on a desktop, and mobile/tablet devices.
We decided on a hand-drawn approach for the visual style of the website, giving it a unique and stylised approach. Colour palettes were kept minimal, only using brand colours. The blue was used to pull out key areas and attract the users eye to navigation, functionality and quotes.
The hand drawn style also allowed the company to not be too keep their website looking fresh and was a far cheaper alternative to photoshoots. It also negated the use of cheesy stock imagery which many other companies locally and nationally already use. Illustrations of the areas Fishtank Recruitment covered were illustrated to show their coverage whilst also create some visual art for the office and add a quirk or two to the new website.
Working with ProNet to better streamline and automate the processing and distribution of jobs by producing a simple export function managed via an Excel document.
Our site helped to promote the brand, increasing their share of the jobs market throughout the South-west, and making people stand up and take notice. We created the addition of a blog and multiple twitter feeds, ensuring that regular relevant content is being uploaded to the website which will slowly improve their Google rankings and SEO.
